ABOUT BEER CHOIR - GREAT SALT LAKE CHAPTER

Founded in December 2023, GSL Beer Choir is the first chapter of Beer Choir in Utah.

Our primary brewery partner is RoHa Brewing Project, where you will find us on Mondays every-other month (Feb - Apr - Jun - Aug - Oct - Dec). On the months between we will begin to feature various venues on our "Rotating Tap". We are always looking for new partners!

Our Chapter Founder and Song-Leader, Angie Keeton,

has worked across the country as a performer, arts educator, and administrator. Just one year spent living abroad in Germany helped the native St. Louisan gain an appreciation for German-style beer making (and consumption!). She plans to survive the apocalypse surrounded by lagers, pilsners and dunkle weizens.

After taking time away from singing before and during the pandemic, she noticed at public events that people were hesitant to sing in public. In her teaching and travels, she witnessed what she calls the "Simon Cowell Effect" where people were so fearful of being made fun of for the sound of their voice, that they would rather not sing at all.

Angie hopes to fix this-through Beer Choir. Through her work in the arts and healthcare, Angie has witnessed first-hand how beneficial singing is for people's hearts, bodies, and minds. Communal singing is essential to almost every culture in the world, and she wanted to create a venue where anyone can raise their voice - and a glass - without judgement!

It's an honor to be here and serve up some great music making and friendship to this community. Cheers!
